Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
Introduction.
We are often asked many of the same questions by our
clients (we like questions). This is understandable, as the
field of structural integration is new to many, not only clients,
but also others in the medical field. It is an expanding field
of medicine that will continue to expand and find more and
more relevancy in the next 50 years.
For example, here is a graph of the
number of research papers that were published on fascia, the
primary tissue that is manipulated in structural integration.

From the 2007 Fascia Research - Basic Science and Implications
for Conventional and Complementary Health Care
Thomas Findley and Robert Schleip, Editors
Note that research in fascia has exploded
exponentially in the last few years (14,447 papers). This
is indicative of the importance that fascia now has in the
medical community, while almost completely ignored up until
the present. Structural integration practitioners have been
on the forefront of this new science for the last 25-30 years.
In 2007, the International
Fascia Research Congress conducted its first international
conference, sponsoring respected scientists from all over
the world to present their findings. It also brought SI practitioners
from all fields of medicine (doctors, physical therapists,
SI practitioners, naturopaths, occupational therapists, movement
therapists, surgeons, and more) together with scientists,
to share the practical clinical experiences with the research
laboratory results.
Our mission is to provide education
for our clients. We have almost 200 areas that we would like
to address in this section of our web site. Please check back
on a regular basis to see the updated FAQs on SI and our clinical
practice.
Also, please check our Educational
Handouts section of the web site. It has a collection
of educational documents on specific subjects, including videos.
If you have any questions that are
not answered by these FAQs, please email
us with your question. Thank you.
